The Government has backed down and abandoned the proposals to change the ways carparks provided to employees are taxed.

This is a welcome development and the Government should be commended for recognising that the "fairness" principle driving the changes was far outweighed by the complexity, uncertainty and low amount of revenue that would have resulted from the changes.
